The cricket IPL live bidding battle will start tomorrow, and the franchises will fight with each other to form their best possible lineup with the limited fund left with them. With 532 million rupees available as their Salary Cap, Kings IX Punjab need to fill 9 slots out of which 5 are overseas slots.
Second, in terms of available funds, we have Rajasthan Royals with 378.5 million who also need to fill in 9 slots with 3 overseas slots in it. Next comes Royal Challengers Bangalore who have 354 million in pockets to fill in the highest number of slots of 11 including 3 overseas slots.
The remaining teams have funds lower than 200 million. Chennai Super Kings with 199 million have 6 slots left with only 1 overseas slot. The defending champions, Mumbai Indians have 153.5 million in reserve with 7 available slots which include 4 overseas and 3 Local players.
Last season’s runners-up Delhi Capitals had formed a very balanced team the previous season, they have 134 million left with them and 8 available slots of which 3 are overseas. Last but not least we have Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad both have 107.5 Million left with them. SRH has 3 available slots with 1 overseas and KKR having 8 slots with 2 overseas slots.
Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have very strong core players and are not expected to make huge moves in the coming auction. Whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad need some bigger works to be done to maintain balance in the squad.
Kings XI Punjab has made the biggest changes releasing some really big names such as Glenn Maxwell, Sheldon Cottrell, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, so a huge task lies ahead of Punjab to form a balanced team.
They will mostly be looking into getting two middle-order genuine batsmen one Overseas and one Indian. They might also look into overseas quicks. To talk about Kolkata Knight Riders there should not be too many moves by them in the auction, they might look into getting an Indian Batsman in the squad.
After a bad season where Chennai Super Kings have not qualified for the playoffs for the first time in cricket IPL live history have let go a lot of experience from their side, they have a good amount of gaps to be filled and are expected to revamp the whole team for the 2022 IPL. They might be looking into off-spinners in the auction. To talk about Rajasthan Royals they have let go one of the biggest names in the arena Steve Smith and also some fast bowlers. They will mostly be looking into getting some genuine India middle-order batsman in the side. The wait is finally over and a very exciting auction is expected on 18th February in Chennai.
